About/Summer Schedules

One of the great perks of being an academic is getting the summers “off” — ostensibly the summer is a time to focus on research and projects too time-consuming to consider during the school year. Also, there’s travelling. Here’re my itineraries for recent summers, just for the archives.

Summer 2005:

  • May 6—14, Lincoln NE and Estes Park CO
  • May 14—17, SYR
  • May 18—22, Toronto ON
  • May 23—30, SYR
  • May 31—June 6, Portland OR
  • June 7—18, SYR
  • June 19—July 1, Salt Lake City UT
  • July 2—August 4, SYR (“the blessed free month”)
  • July 27—August 2, Estes Park for Bottle-Smashing X
  • August 5—10, Adirondacks
  • August 11—28, SYR
  • August 29, classes started

(Summary: 115 days, of which I slept in my own bed 75 nights. 65% ain’t all bad, but it ain’t all good neither.)
