The Final Exam

  • Wednesday, 12 December, 8:00am—10:00am, in HBC Gifford Auditorium. (Here’s the official schedule)
  • review sheet from 5 Dec and answers
  • Finals Week Office Hours: Mon 10 Dec: 1—4pm, Tues 11 Dec: 10am—12noon, Thur 13 Dec: 3—5:30pm

Exam III

Exam II

  • in recitation on October 25
  • the review sheet I handed out on 19 Oct, and answers. There were (of course) a few typos in the answers. The linked PDF is corrected with all the ones I know of (as of noon Wednesday).
  • the exam results were quite good again: mean of 83 and median of 86 percent.

Exam I

  • the review sheet I handed out on 26 Sept
  • despite the administrative mishaps that marred Exam I, the outcome was pretty good. Mean and median were both 78 percent.

Announcement

We’re modifying the syllabus for Chapter 13 slightly to give us more time at the end of the semester. Here are the changes.

  • Section 13.3, we’re skipping arclength parametrization and curvature, and reducing the homework problems to just numbers 1, 3, 4, 39, 41.
  • Section 13.4, we’re skipping normal and tangential acceleration and Kepler’s Laws, and eliminating problems 31 and 33 from the assignment.

The good news is that this will allow us to reach Green’s Theorem by the end of the semester.
